After holding a range of open beta testing periods from the latter half of June until last weekend, Bandai Namco Entertainment has released one of their largest Gundam themed fighting games to date. Serving as a port of the original Japanese arcade release, which in itself was an enhanced remake of the Full Boost games released in both arcades and on the PlayStation 3, Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxiboost ON can now be purchased exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
In this fighting title, players will be able to take control of one of 185 units from the broader Gundam units, and compete them in a single-player mode or online against seventeen other players. The game modes available are as follows:
Player Match [4-18 players]
The host can choose between ‘Team Shuffle mode’ that allows users to play casually and ‘Team Free mode’ that is for users who want to team up and compete
Casual Match [4 players]
For users who want to play casually regardless of their rank
Branch Battle [Offline Single Mode]
For users who want to complete missions against the AI.
While more of a niche title than other fighting games on the market, if you are interested in seeing what Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxiboost ON is about, you can see more about what it offers through its below launch trailer:
