Initially planned to release this month in-line with the (now 2021) scheduled release of Fast & Furious 9, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Universal Games and Digital Platforms, and developer Slightly Mad Studios have recently pushed back the release date of video-game instalment Fast & Furious Crossroads to a more reliable 7 August 2020. The action-adventure racing game is still planned to launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC platforms.
Described as a “team-based vehicular-heist action game” providing a new presumably canonical chapter in the Fast & Furious universe, we also have our first look at actual gameplay content through the lens of a gameplay trailer and screenshots (both of which can be found below).
The Fast & Furious Crossroads story mode expands the Fast & Furious universe—with Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson reprising their roles as Dom, Letty, and Roman respectively. The team will embark on an action-packed adventure set across many global locations, including Athens, Barcelona and Morocco. Joining the cast are Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery, The Walking Dead) and Asia Kate Dillon (Billions, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum).
While this unveiled content only focuses on the Story Campaign, Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed details on the three-way multiplayer mode will be shared “in the coming weeks”.
