As both its title and history implies, Monster Hunter: World will see players gear up to hunt down and slay ferocious monsters. In order to accomplish this feat, players will have access to fourteen different weapon types based on their preferred playstyle and what the situation demands. Providing a look at these weapon styles, Capcom have shared these three videos.
Each weapon type will offer a different overall playstyle and characteristics. Will you choose to go down the route of using swords and blades, which deal good damage and fast-paced attacks? Alternatively, do you prefer ranged weapons such as blowguns which deals damage from afar? Do you prefer to support a party rather than actual deal damage?
Monster Hunter: World will not force you into any one playstyle, as it will be possible to change gear mid-quest at a base camp. There also doesn’t seem to be many restrictions on using all 14-weapons on a regular basis when the situation demands.
Monster Hunter: World will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from Early 2018. A PC version is also in the works.
