Multiplayer Beta for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to Begin in Mid-October

-

For their annual instalment in the Call of Duty video game series, developers Infinity Ward are set to offer Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in early-November 2016 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. In terms of setting, Infinite Warfare is very different from any of its predecessors – involving interstellar warfare across our solar system. This is bound to offer some considerable differences when it comes to the game’s single player campaign and multiplayer modes.

Now, I am not personally a fan of “Beta Tests” for games being released mere months after the testing period. While I do see their uses in terms of stress testing and bug finding, I also find it easy to overplay and render myself more easily bored when the final game is released. But for those more like me and love getting a sneak peek at a game – Activision have confirmed that a beta test will begin for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on October 14th 2016.

This test will be available first on the PlayStation 4, and will later be extended to Xbox One. Those who pre-order the game on the PlayStation 4 will receive first access to this beta. The exact runtime of this beta is currently unknown, but they have claimed that the “Minimum Beta duration is 3 days”, and that access cards are “limited time only, while beta codes last, at participating retailers”.

In another announcement, Activision have also confirmed that they will be offering the PlayStation VR experience “Jackal Assault” as a free added bonus to PS4 copies of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

There’s a ton of excitement here at Call of Duty XP. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Call of Duty fans to celebrate and enjoy everything this franchise has to offer. We’re continuing the momentum from XP next month as fans around the world will be able to join us online to play in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare multiplayer beta, which will give fans a chance to play multiplayer early and will help us to further polish the MP experience as we head into launch.
