Fallout 4’s Third Add-On, ‘Far Harbor’, Presents Players With a New Region to Explore

Past add-on content released for Fallout 4 has been smaller in nature. Fallout 4: Automatron allowed players to create their own custom robot companions, while Fallout 4: Wasteland Workshop saw players able to improve upon their settlements and capture live creatures. But Bethesda Softworks are finally providing brand new quests to unlock and locales to visit, with Fallout 4: Far Harbor to launch on Thursday May 19th. Available for $24.99 USD or local equivalent, this pack will be available simultaneously on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.

Fallout 4: Far Harbor will see characters take on a new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency, leading them on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. They will travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. You must navigate through the growing conflict between three parties: the synths, the Children of Atom and the local townspeople – and work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor. But will accomplishing this ambitious goal come at a cost?

Far Harbor will supposedly feature the largest landmass for an add-on that Bethesda Game Studios has ever created. The new environment will be filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. For those looking to further enhance their characters, it will also feature new, higher-level armor and weapons to discover and unlock.

Bethesda Softworks have noted that even more add-ons will be released for Fallout 4 in 2016. This is in addition to community developed mods, which have recently received a boost through Bethesda Softworks’ open beta launch of the Fallout 4 Creation Kit.
