Nintendo Badge Arcade Launches on Nintendo 3DS Today

Nintendo Badge Arcade background_ screenshotProviding additional opportunities to personalise your Nintendo 3DS’ home screen, Nintendo have today launched Nintendo Badge Arcade on the Nintendo 3DS as a free download.

Taking place in a Nintendo-themed arcade run by a chatty rabbit, players are tasked with completing a range of amusements, collecting badges which can be used to decorate the Home menu. Some can even be used instead of the standard system icons that are used to access, among others, the Nintendo eShop and StreetPass Mii Plaza.

Nintendo Badge Arcade Prize_ (4)Although this is a free download, it is supported to some degree by paid content. Every day, visitors to the arcade get five free players on a practice machine. Practice machines only offer dummy badges, but players can win free plays for the machines packed with real badges. Plays can also be bought at a price of AU$1.30 / NZ$1.70 for five plays.

Players can show off their unique HOME Menu designs via Miiverse, and check out other creators’ designs for inspiration. Badges and machines on offer will change regularly, opening up additional customisation possibilities.
