With all the excitement regarding Back to the Future this past week, in addition to 2015 serving as the 30th anniversary of the Back to the Future movie franchise, Telltale Games have released a special 30th anniversary edition for their Back to the Future: The Game video game series.
Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition features textures that take full advantage of current-generation console capabilities (Presumably for the PS4 and Xbox One versions only), and updated voice work from Biff Tannen’s original movie actor, Tom Wilson. This edition also includes in-game access to new, exclusive content: a behind the scenes video featuring interviews with movie trilogy co-writer and producer Bob Gale, original movie cast member Tom Wilson, members of the development team, and AJ LoCascio – the voice of young Marty McFly.
Back to the Future: The Game does not retell the story of the famous film trilogy, but instead features a unique storyline set six months after Part III. In this game, the DeLorean Time Machine mysteriously returns to Hill Valley without a driver. Featuring a new previously unexplored time period, Marty must go back to 1931 to recruit the help of a reluctant teenage Emmett Brown in order to save 1985’s Doc from a certain death.
Although unavailable on the PlayStation 3, this 30th Anniversary Edition of Back to the Future: The Game is now available on the Xbox 360, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gaming consoles.
