After many… many…. MANY months of beta testing, Team Dakota have announced that Project Spark on both Windows 8 and Xbox One platforms will be leaving its beta testing phase and entering full release. The game will be officially releasing around the world from October 7th 2014 as a free downloadable title, although a special “Starter Pack” to be made available through retail outlets at launch in each respective country.

Those who have been beta testing the game will be able to transfer their beta account over in addition to everything that has been unlocked / purchased. Beta testers who have at the very least booted up the beta test will receive a bonus Beta rewards package containing unspecified goodies.

First unveiled during the Microsoft/Xbox Press Conference at E3 2013, Project Spark is not so much a game as it is a game development tool, allowing players the ability to create a variety of different 3D games through a variety of different means. All game worlds produced in it can be shared with the community.
