While I had been a PlayStation 2 gamer for many years before the launch of the PlayStation 3, I could hardly be what you would consider an “early adopter”. With a small range of launch titles and not really hitting the mark for the first few years of its life, it took one very unique looking game to have me jump over into the Seventh Generation of video game consoles… and that game with LittleBigPlanet.
Exciting news came out of Sony Computer Entertainment’s press conference this morning, with the company confirming that fans can expect LittleBigPlanet 3 to hit PlayStation 4 consoles from November 2014. This time around it isn’t just Sackboy in it for the adventure, but has brought three friends along for the ride as (s)he journeys through the unexplored corners of the Imagisphere known as “Bunkum”. These friends each bring their own special abilities including the quick and agile OddSock who can bound up and over walls, Swoop who can glide through the skies and Toggle who can quite literally toggle between a big / heavy form and a petite form which can fit into small crevices and walk across water. Imagine the Create Mode potential!
Featuring all new Create tools, LittleBigPlanet 3 massively expands possibilities for User Generated Content enabling you to bring your own world to life in the game and explore fans’ creations from around the globe. LittleBigPlanet 3 also gives players access to over 8.5 million of these levels already created by the LittleBigPlanet Community on previous platforms, offering endless fun from the day of release.
Leveraging key PS4 next-generation features, LBP3 offers seamless functionality with the DS4 SHARE button; accessible Create tools integrated on the DS4 touchpad, and advanced gameplay performance. Texture resolutions have been enhanced by 4x which means the materials in LBP3 feel more tactile than ever – in full 1080p HD.
