With the ANZAC Day public holiday set to take place this Friday, with many stores and attractions shutting their doors for at least a half-day if not all-day, Bandai Namco Games Australia have announced that they will be rescheduling their release of Dark Souls II from April 25th, 2014 to April 24th, 2014 (ie. Tomorrow). This will therefore allow everyone in Australia to enjoy the game when it is launched globally this Friday.
However due to the global release date essentially being broken, it will not be possible to play Dark Souls II before 8AM AEST on Friday, at which point the servers will go live. While it is possible and recommended to pre-install, those accessing the game beforehand will be greeted with a message notifying them that the game is not yet available to play.
I commend Bandai Namco for this decision, rather than postponing the release, it is a perfect (If not torturous) way to spend a day outside of any other commitments you may have. Check out my review of Dark Souls II HERE.
