I will admit there was slight surprise from myself when news first game to me that development still continues on Spider-Man video game adaptations, something that has been consistent on almost every generation of video game console since the Atari 2600 in 1982. Serving as a follow-up to their 2012 release of The Amazing Spider-Man, Activision and Beenox are working on the cleverly titled The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for almost all current and last generation consoles.
The publisher recently shared the very first official gameplay trailer for the game, prior to its release over the next few months. This in-game footage gives centre stage to the story with a revealing look into the world of this super hero sequel, as well as an ominous introduction to one of its central characters: Kraven the Hunter (aka Sergei Kravinoff). Marvel’s infamous Russian strongman – equal parts charismatic and dangerous – will play a critical role throughout the game’s narrative, challenging Spider-Man’s code of justice as he traverses the criminal underworld. It also highlights the man beneath the mask, Peter Parker, who will play an important part of his own in the journey to come.
