Along with Jak and Daxter which was released as a PS3 HD Collection only a short while back, the Ratchet and Clank series was another that made its mark on the Playstation 2, and for the general audience as a whole, was perhaps one of the more well known games for the console. Almost ten years after its initial release, Sony Computer Entertainment have announced that you will be able to relive the adventures of the Lombax and Robot in “The Ratchet and Clank Trilogy HD Collection”.
This set, due for release on the 16th May 2012 will encompass Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Locked & Loaded and Ratchet & Clank 3 – all of which are being remastered by Idol Minds, alongside original developers Insomniac. The game will feature a 1080p HD remaster, 720p 3D Support, along with online competitive multiplayer from Rachet & Clank 3 and THREE Platinum trophies. While the PS2 version of Ratchet & Clank 3 originally included online multiplayer, there was the issue of the overly complicated and infrequently used additional hardware which means this could very well be the first opportunity to experience it for many fans.
