If you are one of the many who are currently sitting on the edge of your seat awaiting the release of Guild Wars 2… or at least the pending beta for it, then NCSoft have provided you with something to drool over. The company has announced that on the 10th April 2012, you will be able to pre-purchase your copy of Guild Wars 2, citing a total of three different editions you can do so for – Digital Edition, Digital Deluxe and Collectors Edition.
Pre-purchasing any of the editions will provide you with the ability to access all Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Events, have a three day headstart and a Hero’s Band: “+2 Power, +2 Precision, +2 Toughness, +2 Vitality, +2 Condition Damage, +2 Healing, and +2% Critical Damage“. Other than that, the standard Digital Edition will just contain the game and nothing else of note (As of this post).
For those looking for some enhancements to your gaming experience, picking up the Digital Deluxe edition will net you the following bonuses:
- Summon Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill: This unique elite skill allows the player to summon a temporary Mistfire Wolf pet for use in combat
- Rytlock Minature: This rare miniature is a perfect replica of Rytlock Brimstone and will accompany your character on all of their adventures throughout Tyria.
- Golem Banker: Your very own golem banker, at your command for 5 days! This mechanical man-servant will grant you access to your account storage from anywhere in the world.
- Chalice of Glory: Earn some extra Glory with this one-time use chalice. Use Glory to unlock rewards in PvP as well as compare your progress against other players.
- Tome of Influence: Give your guild a one-time boost of influence. Useful for unlocking guild vaults, emblems and other items for your guild.
But perhaps you are after more than what is listed above….. coming in at a MSRP of $149.99 is the Guild Wars 2 Collections Edition, which as picture above comes with all the above mentioned perks and inclusions along with a number of physical collectors items. Added inclusions to this set from the Digital Deluxe edition are:
- 10-inch Rytlock Figurine: This meticulously sculpted and painted figurine of the charr warrior Rytlock Brimstone will seize and occupy a place of pride in your home.
- 112 Page Making of Guild Wars 2 Book: Go behind the scenes ofGuild Wars 2 in this 112 page hardback book featuring lush art, fascinating facts, and interviews with the development team.
- Best of Guild Wars 2 Soundtrack: Famed composer Jeremy Soule’s sweeping musical score captures the epic grandeur and mystery of Tyria.
- Art Portfolio and Five Art Prints: Five high-quality art prints featuring work by award-winningGuild Wars 2 artists.
- Custom Art Frame: Display your concept art in this finely made art frame.
A pretty sizable Collectors Edition that should hopefully appeal to fans of the series. Personally, I would have liked them to include more than a “Best Of” Soundtrack for that price – given that quite often in my experience, I will find a great song in game, consult my “Best of” sountrack and find it is missing. But other than that, I am overall satisfied.
