Persona 2: Innocent Sin – Pre-order Bonus

-

Persona 2: Innocent Sin - Pre-order Bonus 1It has been a while since Persona 2: Innocent Sin was been mentioned, especially with all the hype surrounding Catherine and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked. This is the PSP port of the original PS1 title that for various reasons, was never released over here, and instead only the sequel was (Persona 2: Eternal Punishment). For those who have not heard of this part of the Persona series before, here is a short synopsis to get you up to speed with the storyline:

The story takes place in Sumaru City, Japan, population 1,280,000. Its protagonist attends Seven Sisters High School (“Sevens” for short), whose emblem is considered a status symbol even amongst students from other schools.  Soon, though, a rumor that Sevens’ emblem was actually cursed, and that wearing it would disfigure one’s face, had spread around the city.

Even worse, the rumor came true…

And it was only the beginning of a string of rumors becoming reality, one after another…

Before long, the protagonists discover the power to summon another side of them called “Personas,” which they use to investigate the strange incidents around the city, all while facing their own personal demons as well.  Time is once again on the march…
With the game due to be released this Fall (or Spring if you are in the Southern Hemisphere), ATLUS USA has just announced their bonus content which will be included with the pre-orders. In comparison to other extras, it may be lacking – but I feel that what they have included are nice to collect alongside the game:
  • The PSP version of the game – Obviously
  • Evidently from the image above, a collectors box which is always something nice to store everything in.
  • A bonus mini-soundtrack consisting of 10 tracks from the games musical score produced by the talented Shoji Meguro. As you are able to choose between the classic tracks and the improved redone tracks in the game – they have chosen to give a diverse selection of songs from those exclusive to the PSP version, those from the PS1 version, remixed songs specially for the disc and songs that are relative to the game but do not appear on them. Honestly, I would have liked perhaps 20-30 songs as the games track list from last looks is quite extensive, but hey – the disc and the cover art looks really fancy.
ATLUS have warned that if you want to get a copy, you should get your pre-order in quickly, as stocks will be limited. After more then a decade-long wait, we finally have a chance of playing the ULTIMATE version of the game, with everything the way it should have been with improved visuals, audio and the all new Climax Theater which contains new sidequests and even a quest creator! Finally, I am happy to announce that ATLUS has also provided some further screenshots which can be seen below.
