The long-running political satire The Wharf Revue will return to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) for its final performance run, The Wharf Revue: The End of The Wharf As We Know It. From 11 to 16 February 2025, audiences in Brisbane will have their last chance to see this revue and its comedic take on Australian politics and public figures, performed at QPAC’s Playhouse.

This farewell performance will feature sketches, parodies, and musical numbers, with the spotlight on both past and present politicians, including Keating, Howard, Gillard, Abbott, Lambie, Hanson, Bandt, Dutton, and Prime Minister Albanese. As Australia heads into a federal election year, no political figure or party will be spared from The Wharf Revue’s sharp and witty satire. The show promises to deliver one last round of the biting humour that has entertained audiences for the past 25 years.

Leading the cast are The Wharf Revue creators Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe, and Phillip Scott, who will also be joined by Mandy Bishop and David Whitney. Audiences should go in expecting this quintet to entertain them with a blend of impersonations, musical parodies, and laugh-out-loud sketches.

Reflecting on the decision to end the series, a spokesperson for The Wharf Revue remarked:

It’s an opportunity to spend more time with family. At the end of the day, this is about the need for renewal. We’ll serve one last term to max out the super and then try to pick up some kind of consultancy work or do a series of Survivor – look, it’s too early to say but it has been an honour to serve the Australian people.

While part of a broader national tour, the Brisbane season is part of the QPAC 40 program, celebrating 40 years of arts and culture at the venue.
