Unfortunately, the increased uncertainty around whether the production would be able to perform on any of its announced dates, especially given the recent restrictions imposed by the Victorian government, the producers of Magic Mike Live have sadly cancelled the remainder of their Australian tour. This means that the Spiegeltent will come down in Melbourne and not be erected in Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide this year and next. However, the producers claim they are “committed to returning to Australia in the future” and are also working to “provide the cast and crew with employment opportunities on other Magic Mike Live productions around the world”.
Since debuting in Sydney in December 2020, Magic Mike Live has had to suspend performances on four different occasions. This includes the cancellation of Sydney and Melbourne opening nights, with most other performance dates being “played at severely limited capacities”.
Guests with tickets for the remainder of the Australian tour will receive full refunds and the Magic Mike Live team ask them to please watch their emails (including junk/spam) for updates from Ticketmaster.
Another victim of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic… I would like to take this time to strongly encourage everyone to book in for their vaccination and get their jabs. If enough of us manage to collaboratively get our shots, there is a greater likelihood that negative events such as this cancellation will not happen.
