Starting off 2021 with a series of live performances, Arts Centre Melbourne has found the community demand for Live at the Bowl to be strong enough that they are extending the season of open-air cultural enrichment through to the end of April 2021. As of yesterday, more than 39,000 tickets have been sold to the variety of events hosted at the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl – giving approximately 40,000 Victorians the opportunity to enjoy a program of music, comedy and more following a very rough year.
The second line-up for Live at the Bowl will feature the likes of Australian music legends, pub rockers, side-splitting comedians and more. These include: 30/70, Archie Roach, Cash Savage and The Last Drinks, Cal Wilson, Close Counters, Dave Thornton, Dilruk Jayasina, Em Rusciano, King Stingray, MaRLo, Private Function, Ruby Fields, Skegss, Sui Zhen, Synthony, The Meanies, The Murlocs, The Vovos, Tom Ballard, Tommy Little, Yusupha Ngum & the AFFIA Band and more to be announced.
Live at the Bowl was just an idea back in September and to see it come to life with the Victorian Government’s support in such a rapid period of time is nothing short of remarkable. There have been so many people involved in getting this season up and running and each has contributed to making our first live performances since closure in March last year a reality. It is providing opportunities for artists and presenters to do what they do best and giving Victorians the opportunity to reconnect with the live entertainment they’ve missed, in what I hope will signal the path forward in our sector’s recovery

Tickets to all the new performances as part of Live at the Bowl will go on-sale at 12.00pm Thursday 21 January 2021. Newly added events to the schedule include:

- 15 February – Happy Mondays: Yusupha Ngum and the AFFIA Band & Sui Zhen curated by Bar Oussou and Colour
- 19 February – Archie Roach: Tell Me Why
- 20 February – Skegss, Ruby Fields, King Stingray & The Vovos curated by The Push
- 22 February – Happy Mondays: 30/70 & Private Function curated by Northcote Social Club and The Evelyn Hotel
- 12 March – Tommy Little’s Big Comedy Showcase with Dave Thornton, Dilruk Jayasina, Cal Wilson and Tom Ballard and more
