Queensland Ballet to Perform Giselle at HOTA: Home of the Arts Next Month for the Gold Coast’s Ballet Aficionados

While there are many small venues across the Gold Coast which have managed to open their doors, there is clearly still a bit more time left until HOTA: Home of the Arts is back in full-force with their usual array of performing arts productions. But as I have reported before, the venue has not been quiet, with significant events such as GAIA and Kids Take Over being held there in recent weeks. If you are a Gold Coaster eager to see some of the states finest perform ballet on its stages, you don’t have much longer to wait.

Queensland Ballet and HOTA: Home of the Arts is next month producing a three-night, three performance season of the iconic romantic ballet Giselle from 12 November 2020 until 14 November 2020. The season will be performed on The Outdoor Stage, with options for both seated theatre-style seating and picnic-style seating. Tickets are now available to pre-order via the HOTA website, with prices ranging from $20 – $80 depending on preferred seating type, seating reserve, concession card status and attendee age. Additional food and beverage hampers are also available should you wish to make the night a little bit fancier.

The supernatural story follows the young peasant girl Giselle as she falls in love and dies of a broken heart, deceived by her lover Albrecht, who is engaged to another. Deep in the moonlit forest, she emerges in the twilight spirit world of the vengeful Wilis where she must perform the ultimate act of forgiveness to save him from certain death.
