With recent events surrounding COVID-19 meaning that news over the next week is likely to involve more show cancellations and venue shutdowns, it is great to have some happier news coming out of Disney Theatrical Productions Australia today. A few months out from the season opening at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney; the producers have confirmed the full original Australian cast in addition to Jemma Rix (Elsa) and Courtney Monsma (Anna) they announced a few weeks back. Frozen the Musical first performed on Broadway in 2018 where it still runs to this day. Similar to other musical adaptations by Disney Theatrical Productions, this will follow the same core story as the animated feature it is based off, however features new plot elements, a wealth of new songs including the amazing new song “Monster” (below) and more.
Performances of Frozen the Musical will commence at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney from July 2020.
