Take That (In-Game) Snap Daily Photo – Commander Flufflebutt

Commander Flufflebutt, relaxing at the dining table on the Constellation Aquila, ready for another adventure

Take That (In-Game) Snap Daily Photo is an off-shoot of the upcoming Take That (In-Game) Snap article series, which looks at, celebrates and critiques how video game developers have implemented professional photography-like systems into their games, how the systems handle, just how accessible they are and, where applicable, how a modding community might be making these tools even better. With this Daily Photo spin-off series, I will be sharing individual photos from the games either covered or soon-to-be-covered in the series.

As development has continued on Cloud Imperium Games’ ambitious space-sim video game project Star Citizen, there has been growing number of items for players to inspect, carry around, sell and interact with each Alpha build. More-so, the object’s placement to a considerable degree is retained should it be within an area associated with your character – such as a private quarters or ship. For those staying at Area 18 on the planet ArcCorp, each living quarters comes bundled with an adorable teddy bear. A friend of mine carried theirs – affectionately named Commander Flufflebutt – with them on all their expeditions. But this teddy bear needed protection…. as if they were lost or within a destroyed ship…. my friend would have to wait until a server wipe to get a second Commander Flufflebutt.

It was a bit of silly fun until a landing of the RSI Constellation Aquila failed (pictured below), and the pair of us needed to escape not only ourselves…. but with the adorable Commander safely in our arms.

Uh… whoops!
