At the end of next month, film lovers from across Australia will hopefully be descending upon the Gold Coast for twelve days of exclusive movie screenings, workshops, award ceremonies and more. The Gold Coast Film Festival has officially launched their 2022 program, offering everything from opening night (How to Please a Woman) and closing night (Bosch & Rockit) affairs, to a seemingly endless list of other events in between them.
Sadly the Cool Japan program doesn’t return again, which is a shame as it was one of the bastion of not only Queensland and Australian premieres of anime, but was even home to the World Premiere of Makoto Shinkai’s The Garden of Words. But despite this omission once again, there is a range of works that is sure to attract fans of any film genre!
For a look at what is on, check out the official program available HERE. While Home of the Arts will once again serve as a sort of home base for the festival, screenings and other events will be spread out at venues across the Gold Coast, including Burleigh Brewing, Cooly Beach, Event Cinemas Coomera and Pacific Fair, QT Gold Coast and Warner Bros. Movie World.
