If you were to think of the characters in ATLUS’ PlayStation 2 era RPG Odin Sphere, Alice would probably not be at the top of the list of those to be adapted into a physical figure. Along with her pet cat Socrates, her purpose in the game is to be the players “chapter select”, as she reads the different Odin Sphere books found in her attic, each chronicling the story of a protagonist as they work to save the world.
Due for release in December 2020 for a retail price of approximately 20,800 yen, Alter will be manufacturing a 1/8 scale figure based on Alice. This is one of several Odin Sphere figures developed by Alter based around the game’s female protagonists, with their other offerings including a Velvet figure, two of Gwendolyn and another of Mercedes.
With a height of 19cm inclusive of the base, this is not a cheap figure for its scale or height. That said, if the preview imagery (available below) is anything to go by, it does have a wonderfully designed base and lots of attention to detail which may help justify the price point.
