Tributes Come in For English Voice Actor, Billy Kametz

In sad news confirmed earlier today by a number of sources including Point of Contact Booking and Aniplex of America, it has been confirmed that English language voice actor Billy Kametz passed away on Thursday 9 June 2022 from Stage IV Colon Cancer. Tragically he was only 35 years of age, and had taken a leave of absence from his work in late-April 2022.

With voice roles spanning back to the late-90s, Kametz came into his stride in recent years with a number of high profile voice acting roles in both anime and video games. Some of his arguably most prolific roles include Josuke Higashikata in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Ferdinand in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Blue in Pokémon Masters, Takuto Maruki in Persona 5 Royal, White Blood Cell in Cells at Work! and many, many more. With such a versatile voice, he will surely be missed in the voice acting community.

My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends in this time. In lieu of flowers, his family is encouraging everyone to make memorial contributions in Billy Kametz’s name to the Colon Cancer Coalition.
