In October 2017, 325 international backers (including myself) raised ¥8,980,540 through Tokyo Otaku Mode’s crowdfunding campaign to support the localisation of feature film Kud Wafter Returns, an anime adaptation of the Little Busters! spin-off visual novel. Originally slated to ship out in September 2019, as crowdfunding campaigns tend to do, it was postponed – until eventually being officially launched and shipped out earlier this month. Having just gotten home this afternoon, I was ecstatic to find my copy awaiting me!
Kud Wafter Returns is animated by the studio J.C. Staff, and is a “what-if” romantic-drama sequel to the successful visual novel and anime franchise Little Busters! from KEY. Many of the Little Busters! cast voice cast reprise their original roles including Yui Horie as Riki Naoe and Naomi Wakabayashi as the titular character, Kudryavka Noumi.
Just before curling up on the couch for what I hope will be an experience well worth the multi-year wait, I would like to share a (very) quick unboxing of the Blu-ray and the small collection of bonuses included in the F-Course Set priced at ¥7,400. I do regret not splurging on at least the G-Course, which came with an exclusive artbook and deluxe packaging, but what can I do~?
