Watching Digimon: Digital Monsters as a child in the early-2000s was a daily ritual. While interest faded away as time went on, new cinematic films in the original ‘Digimon Adventures’ canon has sparked that nostalgia and brought me back to following Tai and his team of (now teenage/adult) friends. To serve as the “last adventure of Tai and Agumon”, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna is set to conclude 20 years of adventures – although exactly why or how is a mystery.
Toei Animation and Fathom Events have announced that they will be doing a one-night-only big-screen release of Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna in select cinemas across the United States on 25 March 2020. Tickets will be available to purchase from participating cinema box offices and the Fathom Events website from 7 February 2020 – so lock that date in your calendar if you are interested in attending. All sessions around the country will commence at 7.00pm local time. There is no confirmation of screenings of this film in Canada, Europe, Australia or New Zealand to date.
Those attending the screenings will experience 15-minute pre-show featuring interviews with the film’s Director, Tomohisa Taguchi and Chief Animation Director, Seiji Tatsukawa.
