Sentai Filmworks Acquire Rights to 2014 TV Anime When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace

Adding another slightly older anime series to their acquisition pile, which indicates that a home video release of it may not be too far away, North American anime publisher Sentai Filmworks have announced they now hold the rights to When Supernatural Battles Become Commonplace. Also known as Inō Battle wa Nichijō-kei no Naka de (異能バトルは日常系のなかで), this is a 12-episode series which is based on the ongoing light novel written by Kota Nozomi.

This series follows a group of four girls and one boy, who are all members of their schools literature club. These five students experience an incredible power awakening with them on the same day. With that, they dive into an exciting world of high-powered magical battles to defend humanity… or at least that is what you might expect. Instead, their daily lives and mostly peaceful, and they begin to find ways in which to use their powers fairly wastefully. This leads to a series which seeks to deliver comedy, love and, of course, supernatural battles.

When Supernatural Battles Become Commonplace saw Masahiko Otsuka take charge of both series composition, and the show itself as chief director. Masanori Takahashi was responsible for directing the series, with Satoshi Yamaguchi in charge of character design. Animation Production was helmed by TRIGGER.

Catch this series first on select video-on-demand services soon, otherwise I would expect a home video release in the near future.
