Highly acclaimed anime director Makoto Shinkai has released a number of fantastic animated films over the years (Most recently, The Garden of Words) and been most notable for his environment designs which to myself at least are nothing short of “scenery porn” tier. One of his short films Dareka no Manazashi (だれかのまなざし or localized as “Someone’s Gaze”) has been available online since the 5th September 2013 and has since been viewed more than 745,000 times. Unfortunately CoMix Wave Films have confirmed that this seven minute film will be taken down from Youtube on the morning of the 21st January 2014.
