Animania Brisbane Been Cancelled for 2013 – Sydney Events Still Set to Go Ahead

-

AnimaniaThe Animania festival is an annual anime convention which has over the years have been held in a number of locations – in more recent years including Sydney and Brisbane. Unfortunately it has been announced by the events official Facebook page that the Brisbane event is not going ahead – with Animania Festivals set to be held in Sydney on the 23rd March 2013 and September 14th/15th 2013.

While the team didn’t give much away as to the reasons, the following is what they posted:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of Animania Brisbane March this year. It is not one factor, but a combination of many factors that has lead us to this decision. We thank you for your understand and continued support and we looking forward to bringing the event back to Brisbane in future years.

Queensland unlike other states in Australia generally do not have as many anime conventions or their own dedicated event, with the only real main ones aside from Animania being the annual Gold Coast and Brisbane Supanova Pop Culture Expos.
