Following a slight release delay, Lupiesoft have finally released their all-ages visual novel – The Reject Demon: Toko Chapter 0 – Prelude – onto the Steam digital distribution service. Priced at $4.99 USD, this is the first chapter in a series of visual novels, with more presumably going to be developed in the near future (Over a course of four chapters). Those who love the visual novel’s music can also purchase its digital soundtrack for $1.99 USD.
LupieSoft have also confirmed that development on this title will be continued post-launch. In the immediate future, this will come in a set of updates delivering Steam trading cards and a patch which will bump the default resolution from 720p up to a scalable resolution of 1440p. Both updates will be available for free to everyone who purchased The Reject Demon. Also on the drawing board is a potential voice acting patch. There is no ETA on when this update may be commissioned, but they are after fan feedback with regards to this.
When a human is destined to die, the demons ferry their souls to the afterlife. ‘The Reject Demon: Toko’ is the story of Toko herself, a demon who has been kicked out of hell. Toko cannot ferry human souls to the underworld, and every day she stays on earth has her becoming increasingly human. Her troubles, however, are only just beginning. Toko, after being taken in by the jubilant human Nadia, is being hunted by her past alongside her own internal challenges.
