The team at Sekai Project have every reason to celebrate tonight. Following the success of their CLANNAD crowdfunding campaign earlier this month, Sekai Project have managed to net themselves an additional $475,255 USD in pledges from 4,348 backers to bring Front Wing’s The Grisaia Trilogy set of visual novels to international fans. This total pushes them well past their ambitious $160,000 original goals and fulfilled both the subsequent $200,000 and $240,000 stretch goals.

This means that Sekai Project will now be moving to release the visual novel via digital and physical formats, with a currently planned release date of October 2015. Unless you pledged at least $1 during their campaign, it will no longer be possible to put an order on these visual novel’s until Sekai Project open an alternate online store or until the finalized release (Including a planned Steam release).

Sekai Project’s success with this campaign, including them filling three of the four $5,000 pledge tiers, is one of the several successes to date achieved by the publisher. I sincerely hope that other development teams in Japan look to this as an example of the thirst and demand for legally purchasable visual novels in western markets.

Those who contributed will soon be sent a survey asking for details and further information on BackerKit for additional pledges/add-on selection.

The Grisaia Trilogy

The Fruit of Grisaia – Grisaia no Kajitsu

“Mihama Academy.” At a glance, it might seem a normal school; but this isolated learning environment is home to a mere five students, all female.

This changes with the arrival of Kazami Yuuji, a transfer student with an uncertain past and a highly idiosyncratic personality.

As Yuuji interacts with his five classmates, all borderline-eccentrics in their own right, they begin to influence each other in unexpected, meaningful ways…

But the deep-seated, painful wounds that have brought these five young women to Mihama are still a fact of their existence. And eventually, our protagonist can no longer remain a spectator.

Will Yuuji’s peculiar set of skills and experiences enable him to open his classmates’ stubbornly-sealed hearts…?

The Labyrinth of Grisaia – Grisaia no Meikyuu

The sequel contains five “After Stories” continuing all of the heroines’ routes from “The Fruit of Grisaia,” in addition to “The Cocoon of Caprice,” a story which touches on Kazami Yuuji’s painful, complex past and explores certain mysteries left unresolved in the previous title. A variety of bonus content is also included, including dozens of brief “Short Stories.”

The Eden of Grisaia – Grisaia no Rakuen

The conclusion to the trilogy consists of “The Seed of Blanc Aile,” directly continuing from The Labyrinth of Grisaia’s main route. Beginning with the protagonist’s sudden disappearance, the story quickly moves toward a dramatic climax, with all the answers revealed at last. Additional contents include “Prologue de la Grisaia,” a side story that depicts the five heroines’ arrival at Mihama Academy, and their time there prior to the arrival of Kazami Yuuji.
