While there were English localisations of some PlayStation 2 RPG Maker titles, all currently available instalments in the video game development software series have been limited to the PC. In a change of pace, both for the series and the publisher, Nippon Ichi Software America are working on releasing RPG Maker Fes, exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS.
Like other titles in the series, RPG Maker Fes is designed to allow pretty much anyone with time and a vision to develop their own RPG – without needing to know much about programming. Instead of pouring over a lot of code, you can spend the time using the games user interface to customise the characters, stories, combat, maps and more. Thanks to the free RPG Maker Player app to be released alongside RPG Maker Fes, you will be able to share your creations with other players.
Providing a new look at both possible end-products and the tools you will used to construct your own RPGs, NIS America recently shared a new batch of screenshots (below). Those looking for more detail about the systems you will use to build an RPG can check out the official RPG Maker Fes website, which has been updated with further information.
NIS America will be releasing RPG Maker Fes on the Nintendo 3DS sometime in Summer 2017.
