As the release date for their tactical RPG draws closer, it seems like Nippon Ichi Software America have been facing some issues with their impending launch of Grand Kingdom. And not just one issue… but three. Although none of them directly relate to an issue with the full game itself, each will either result in a delay for some gamers or an incomplete Limited Edition set.
Issue #1 – North American Physical Release Delay
NIS America have confirmed that their physical edition release of Grand Kingdom in North America has been delayed from June 21st until June 28th. This delay is associated with a “mix-up” in their packing facility “which requires disassembling and reassembling the product”. According to them, this delay is to ensure that all customers receive the product they ordered, rather than an incorrect one.
This doesn’t delay the June 17 launch in PAL regions, and it doesn’t seem to affect the digital North American release either.
Issue #2 – European Limited Edition OST Replacement
A manufacturing error occurred with with the European Limited Edition of Grand Kingdom at their packing facility. While the game is perfectly fine, the Limited Editions were incorrectly packed with the 5-track soundtrack sampler CD rather than the 15-track original soundtrack.
Those who purchased a Limited Edition of Grand Kingdom and received the 5-track CD will be eligible for a disc replacement. If you are affected, click HERE and fill in all relevant information. This doesn’t affect the Launch or Grand Editions of Grand Kingdom in Europe.
Issue #3 – Demo Delays
While the PlayStation Vita LiteDEMO of Grand Kingdom is functional and now available, the same cannot be said for the PlayStation 4 version. The PS4 LiteDEMO has been delayed until launch, following an “unforeseen technical issue with the preorder”. In a statement, they claim “this issue was not something we could test for before the game was up for preorder in tandem with the demo”.
Nippon Ichi Software America have sincerely apologised for the extended wait. They have also confirmed they will be extending the one-time free download period for the launch day Lord’s Set until July 28 in North America.
