Attention was recently drawn to the Japanese website for Persona 5, where a countdown was being held to mark the launch of a Niconico Special Broadcast related to the game.
The countdown is set to conclude this evening, with the livestream feed now activated. At the moment there is only a stream of Tokyo Tower with what is presumably music from Persona 5 playing in the background. The main festivities of this stream are set to begin at 21:30 Japan Time.
With little more than the phrase “Take Your Heart” to work with, it is currently unknown what this livestream will offer. Will it be a new major preview? Will it be a character unveil? Will it be a feature announcement? Could it even be the long awaited release date that fans have been waiting some time for? Time will tell…
Persona 5 is the next numbered instalment in the Megami Tensei spin-off series “Persona”. While it has received many spin-off games (Persona Q, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Persona 4: Dancing All Night) and remakes (Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden), a brand new instalment has not been offered since 2008 on the PlayStation 2.
Persona 5 is being handled in North America by ATLUS USA. A PAL region publisher has yet to be confirmed, but will presumably be Nippon Ichi Software America.
