Square Enix Release Free “Platinum Demo” for Final Fantasy XV

Last year as part of a special inclusion with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One copies of Final Fantasy Type-0, Square Enix shared a special sneak peak demo of Final Fantasy XV – titled Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae. This was a small snippet of the full game, and provided a good look at the battle systems and other gameplay mechanics which await players when the long-awaited RPG finally launches.

But with the game’s release date now locked in stone, the company have announced a new demo is now available on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Known as the “Platinum Demo”, this is a free downloadable title which tells a complementary tale not present in the final game itself. It will see you take control of Noctis as a child, as he explores a fragmented dreamscape. Players can take control of young Noctis as he masters various weapons, magic skills and driving.  To overcome the many monsters within this fantastical dream world, young Noctis will have Carbuncle as is his magical guide.

Players who manage to complete this demo will unlock the exclusive Carbuncle summon DLC when Final Fantasy XV finally launches.

The demo is now live on the Xbox Marketplace and PlayStation Store.
