SEGA Share New Information and Trailer for Yakuza 0

While its English localised release was years in the making, SEGA finally pooled the resources into localising and publishing Yakuza 5 on the PlayStation 3. Motivated to continue their work on the long-running Ryu Ga Gotoku series, they have begun the work on localising Yakuza 0 – a prequel to all other games in the series.

In Yakuza 0, players step into the shows of Kiryu and Majima before they became known as the Dragon and the Mad Dog (respectively). Players will get to see how their careers started, leading them to become known as what they are now.

In addition to sharing the trailer above, SEGA have shared some new information on this game. First of all, Yakuza 0 will receive a PAL region release, via both physical and digital channels. This is compared to Yakuza 5 where the game was available exclusively on the PlayStation Store outside of Japan. They have also confirmed that while PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 editions of this game exist in Japan, they will only be supporting the PlayStation 4 version. Finally, it has been announced that Yakuza 0 is being localised 100% as a SEGA initiative, and PlayStation isn’t involved on a production level with this title.

Reside in North America and have yet to pick up Yakuza 5? From now until April 5th, they have marked down the game by 25% on the PlayStation Store.
