The Skills and Combat of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Explored in New Trailer

-

While Odin Sphere Leifthrasir might be a port of its original PlayStation 2 release, it is being enhanced in many ways to provide a rewarding and fresh experience for both new players and veterans alike. But these enhancements are not just a fresh coat of paint, instead providing a number of gameplay tweaks and additions which will hopefully make an already satisfying experience even greater.

In terms of the Odin Sphere battle system, not only has developer Vanillaware correlated user feedback from the original title to provide what will hopefully be an enriched experience, but have also added almost 200 skills and abilities across each of the game’s five main playable characters. Players will have the option to unlock new powerful active skills, passive skills and abilities to unleash the full potential of each battler. The leveling system also has been streamlined so characters and Psyphers now level together. Highlighting these improvements, publisher ATLUS USA have shared a new trailer which highlights returning and new components of the battle system. You can view this video at the top of this post. There are also a handful of screenshots you can view below.Vanillaware have also tweaked some of the other gameplay elements aside from the battle system, including the ability to assign skills to button commands, full 1080p/60 fps support, a more fluid combo system, and more. There is also a “Classic Mode” being included which allows you to retain the old Odin Sphere gameplay systems but retain the enhanced visuals and performance improvements. To be published in North America by ATLUS USA and Nippon Ichi Software America in Europe/Australia/New Zealand, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir will be available for purchase both digitally and physically starting June 2016.
