Providing an almost five and a half minute look at what’s currently in store for Kingdom Hearts fans during 2016 and beyond, Square Enix have shared a new Jump Festa 2015 trailer which covers both Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (Exclusive to the PlayStation 4) and the long awaited release of Kingdom Hearts III (To be available on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One). The runtime is more heavily weighted towards the former, with the KHIII preview equating to little more than a sneak peek of the battle system and explorable worlds.
Following their PlayStation 3 exclusive releases of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix (Containing Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days) and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix (Containing Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded), Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is set to also offer a trio of titles. This will include a high-definition remake of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, and two new chapters: Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep–A Fragmentary Passage. As their titles may imply, making your way through all nine titles across all three collections should see you more or less prepared for when Kingdom Hearts III launches.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is currently slated to launch in 2016, while the release date for Kingdom Hearts III remains a complete mystery.
