Back in February 2014, MonkeyPaw Games published the Japanese version of Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return as part of their “Retro Rush” program. Despite there being an English localisation of the title when it was first released on the PlayStation 1, this PlayStation Store exclusive release was only available in Japanese. This was due to the original North American edition having an emulation issue which “did not allow the game to be presented at a level of quality equal to Sony’s dedication to excellence”.

Fast forward more than a year and a half from then and the emulation issues have seemingly been resolved, with MonkeyPaw Games today announcing that Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return is available in English via the PlayStation Store as a PS One Classic title. The game is supported on each the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita platforms.

We never gave up hope of resolving the Tomba! 2 emulation issue. We’re thrilled that our persistence has finally paid off, and we’re going to celebrate with a special Twitter giveaway for Tomba fans only!

More information on the aforementioned giveaway can be found below:

Between now and Christmas day, North American PSN fans who Retweet the Tomba! 2 announcement from MonkeyPaw Games’ Twitter account (@MonkeyPawGames) will be entered into a random drawing to win one of over 100 limited-edition plush Tomba figures, awarded at the rate of two per day. These limited-edition plushies are not sold in stores.

– From Official Press Release

Players who purchased the Japanese version of Tomba! 2 from the PlayStation Store will be able to download the English-language version for free after receiving instruction from Sony.
