Pre-Orders Open for RPG Maker MV, Release Planned for Later This Month

-

Several years after last releasing RPG Maker VX Ace to the international market, Degica and Kadokawa Corporation have announced that RPG Maker MV will be released digitally via their official website and Steam beginning October 23rd 2015. Pre-orders for the game development software has now begun, with both its official website and Steam offering a pre-order discount of 10% ($71.99 down from $79.99).

In addition to the discount, Degica will be offering two resource packs to those who pre-order at no additional charge. The first is the ‘Cover Art Characters Pack‘, a set which includes resources featuring RPG Maker MV’s cover art characters. According to Degica: “Featuring a brand new main party and brimming with bonus material, this pack includes the essentials to build the perfect character party.” The second is ‘The Essentials Add-On‘, which includes a range of resources such as original music, tileset add-ons and character facesets.

Serving as a successor of RPG Maker XP (2004), VX (2007) and VX Ace (2011) in Japan (and their subsequent English localised releases), this RPG Maker installment features a number of new features including Mac support, the possibility to develop a game for multiple devices (Windows, Mac OS X, Android, iOS and HTML5 for Web Browsers), two built-in battle modes, mouse/touch input support, a larger database, three layers, higher screen resolution support (With assets being made 1.5x larger) and more.
