Persona 5 Delayed Until 2016 in International Markets

-

Although this news should come as almost no surprise given the recent announcement by ATLUS in Japan, ATLUS USA have confirmed that Persona 5 will now be released internationally in 2016. Given the game has been given a “Summer 2016” release in Japan, it is likely we will see it sometime in the latter half of the year. Unfortunately, the wait continues.

In a media release made earlier today, the following statement was given:

The strengths of the Persona series are compelling characters, a moving, relatable story, and a borderline obsession with minutiae – elements which can’t be rushed or taken lightly. So while ATLUS realizes the frustration and disappointment that this must cause for the JRPG-loving public, please know that we are delaying the game in order to make sure the next iteration of the Persona series lives up to the expectations of fans.

Persona 5 will now be released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in 2016. No new console platforms have been announced – and given the franchise’s history over the last decade will quite probably not change.
