With the October 2nd 2015 release date for Samurai Warriors 4-II drawing closer, Koei Tecmo Europe have this evening unveiled information on new features and characters to be included in the character-focused tactical action title.
Rather than covering a broad number of characters as previous Samurai Warriors titles have, Samurai Warriors 4-II’s Story Mode opts to focus on only a handful. Koei Tecmo have today announced four additional characters to receive their own individual chapters – following the announcement of four last month. These are:
Kagekatsu Uesugi – A laconic man whose battle prowess will inspire his entire clan.
Kojuurou Katakura – Whose story of loyalty to his master Masamune Date is a tale of devotion.
Takakage Kobayakawa – A man of great mercy and compassion who always looked to end battles with the least casualties possible.
Toyohisa Shimazu – A young lord eager to match his elders’ skill.

In addition to announcing the four characters, Koei Tecmo Europe also confirmed that Samurai Warriors 4-II will be including a brand new “Survival Mode”. In this mode, players can push themselves to the limits by taking control of their favourite character and entering a daunting castle which features endless levels and a plentiful bounty of rewards. Rewards gained by defeating thousands of enemies and completing objectives can be used in Story Mode – but only if the player escapes the castle before either the health or time bars deplete. The higher one climbs, the more difficult and numerous the enemies are, and the more lucrative the rewards.
Also introduced are a series of “Challenge Modes”, which allows players to set high scores in one of four chambers:
The Chamber of Trials – All about defeating as many enemies as possible within a given time limit.
The Chamber of Riches – Focuses on collecting as much gold as possible until time runs out.
The Chamber of Agility – Tests ones skill defeating enemies and reaching a set point in as quick a time as possible.
The Chamber of Death – Filled with enemies that can deal overpowering blows that could kill low level characters instantly.
Developed by Omega Force, Samurai Warriors 4-II is set for release internationally on the PlayStation 4, (Physical / Digital), PlayStation 3 (Digital), PlayStation Vita (Digital) and PC (Steam) platforms starting October 2nd 2015.
