ATLUS USA have shared a brand new character trailer for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight. This video features one of the named characters who will join your party should you opt to play through the game’s newly introduced ‘Story Mode’: Flavio.
Flavio is a Bow-Toting Survivalist, a deadly archer that can inflict a number of status debuffs on monsters in the Labyrinth. He can also gain earlier access to “Flank Shot”, providing crowd control for your party since it can hit multiple enemies per attack. As with the classic “Survivalist” class in Class Mode, he also gains some dodge-tanking skills in the form of “Trick Step” and “Chain Dance”. The former skill lowers an enemy’s hit rate, and the latter raises the Survivalist’s target and evade rate.
Serving as an enhanced port of 2008 DS dungeon-crawler Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard, Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight is set to hit store shelves in North America starting August 4 2015.
NIS America have already confirmed plans for a PAL Region release (With Bandai Namco Entertainment Australia serving as distributor in their covered regions). Unfortunately for fans outside of North America and Japan, the game won’t be receiving a PAL release until February 2016.
Aw jeez. Every time I see news items about this it just reminds me I have to finish up EOIV and make more progress in the first Etrian Odyssey Untold. I enjoy both quite a bit, but just never could power through to the end on either… it doesn’t hurt that Atlus announces new releases so frequently, I’m constantly hopping into new games of theirs. Oh well, whatcha gonna do? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
