[E3 2015] Bandai Namco Announce Dark Souls III For Current Generation Gaming Platforms

-

Although unable to keep it a secret until E3 2015, Bandai Namco Entertainment have today announced that Dark Souls III is currently in development, and is headed for an early 2016 release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. This will be the Dark Souls’ first instalment not on seventh generation consoles, dropping support for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms – both of which helped make the series what it is today.

Developed by acclaimed Japanese developer FromSoftware and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, Dark Souls III is the next instalment in the Dark Souls sword and sorcery RPG franchise, known for sadistically torturing players at almost every possible opportunity. It is claimed that players will once again travel across a wide variety of locations in an interconnected world of unrelenting challenge and deep RPG gameplay as they search for a way to survive the coming apocalypse.

The DARK SOULS brand became a phenomenon thanks to amazing work from our dear partners FromSoftware and our very own BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment teams. But above all, we are blessed to have such a supportive and loving community, and we are happy to dedicate this final episode to them!
