Trilogy of 2.5D Assassin’s Creed Games Announced

-

Although this does not seem to be the annual yet-to-be-announced major instalment of Assassin’s Creed for 2015, Ubisoft have confirmed that they will be publishing a trilogy of “Assassin’s Creed Chronicles” games during 2015.

Set in China, India and Russia respectively; players will be invited on journeys through three distinct civilizations and time periods throughout history. To be more specific, these will be the Ming Dynasty at the start of its downfall, the Sikh Empire as it prepares for war in India and the aftermath of the Red October revolution. While the games will be tied together through some unknown plot element, each chronicle will feature its own Assassin (Shao Jun, Arbaaz Mir and Nikolaï Orelov), story and art style.

Each of these games will be developed by independent developer Climax Studios in collaboration with Assassin’s Creed franchise developer Ubisoft Montreal. While nowhere near the scope of the core game’s, these will be presented in 2.5D and retain core concepts present in all other titles. A small snippet of gameplay can be found in the brief trailer above.

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will be published on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming platforms from April 22nd 2015, with Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia to be released at a later date.
