Mindscape Announces Distribution Partnership for Idea Factory International Games 1

Outside of the digital download editions via the PlayStation Store or Steam, it has not been possible for gamers in Australia to pick up physical collections of JRPG’s published by Idea Factory International in North America and Europe. In all honesty, I was not expecting this to change anytime soon, especially considering the publisher has gone more than a year without an Australian distributor. Fortunately this is all set to change with Omega Quintet….

Mindscape and Idea Factory International have today announced a distribution partnership which will see Mindscape handle all sales, marketing and distribution of Idea Factory International’s titles in Australia and New Zealand. The first game to take advantage of this new deal will be Omega Quintet on the PlayStation 4, a hybrid RPG/idol simulation game set to hit store shelves on May 1st 2015. It is likely that this deal will also extend to the range of Hyperdimension Neptunia games to be localized/published in 2015, although it is unknown if earlier titles will receive a physical release.

Our expertise in Anime games makes Idea Factory International a natural fit for Mindscape. It meets our objectives of offering a solid range of games to the local community. We are very excited to bring Idea Factory International’s popular role playing games to Australia and New Zealand along with developing the brand and growing the fanbase.

This pretty much means that Mindscape now publish a very broad range of games – from the highly anticipated AAA titles (Eg. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain) to very niche (Eg. Omega Quintet). As an Australian who previously spent years tracking down old PlayStation 2 games which never received a sufficient release in Australia, I personally say kudos to Mindscape!
