XSEED Confirm Acquisition Of New Titles in Onechanbara and Senran Kagura Franchises

-

North American video game publisher XSEED Games have today announced that they will be releasing English localizations of two new games in the Onechanbara and Senran Kagura franchises – both of which they have worked with before. Set for release on different video game consoles, both titles will be available during the “Summer 2015” season in North America. PAL region release dates for these titles have yet to be confirmed however.

Titled Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson, this is a brand new 2.5D side-scrolling brawler to be published exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS. Serving as a sequel to Senran Kagura Burst, this game sends all twelve original cast members on another supernatural martial arts adventure through modern Japan, with similar high-flying clothes-ripping battle mechanics to its predecessors.

For the first time in the series, shinobi can fight in pairs, covering each other’s backs or combining special techniques as needed, or fight alone to give their partners time to recover after bouts of intense combat. One player can control both team members, switching back and forth at will, or two players can fight side by side in co-op mode.

Marvelous Europe have confirmed that they will be doing a European release of Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson at an unspecified date in the future. While retail and digital editions will be available in North America, PAL regions will have a default digital purchase option – with a pre-order campaign to be launched for physical copies.

Building upon their small repertoire of video games for the PlayStation 4, XSEED have also confirmed their acquisition of Onechanbara Z2: Chaos.

The latest iteration of the Onechanbara sexy zombie slayer series ups the ante with two sets of buxom vampire sisters and over a dozen stages of high-octane real-time swordplay featuring hordes of zombies—not to mention wildly inventive methods for dispatching these undead opponents. Players will square off against the undead in various worldwide locations, with limbs and blood flying every which way by means of physical attacks and acrobatic maneuvers alike, occasionally transforming into a demon for short bursts of added power and speed at the cost of life energy. Each of the four members of the so-called “bikini zombie squad” has her own unique abilities, and skillful play is rewarded with orbs that can be exchanged for upgraded weapons and outfits. For the first time in the series, players can enjoy the game with full English voice-acting or play through with the original Japanese performances.

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos will be available in North America digitally, with a limited “Banana Split” retail release. A PAL region release has also been confirmed, but no launch window or specifics have been confirmed to date.
