The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Goes Live

-

Bidding farewell to its short period as a pay-to-play (P2P) online game, Bethesda Softworks have today confirmed that gamers can now join the realm of Tamriel with their one-off buy-to-play (B2P) PC and Mac release of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. Featuring the entire original game and the six major content updates introduced since launch, all previously opened accounts (Whether open or closed) have now been updated to this new edition. New accounts on the other hand can be purchased for $69.95 AUD or local equivalent.

While the base game has now gone B2P, Tamriel Unlimited also introduced a premium membership, ESO Plus, and the in-game Crown Store where players can purchase customization and convenience items. Time will tell if this combination of premium memberships and “convenience items” will turn Elder Scrolls Online into a Pay-to-Win game or (as I hope) will simply deliver luxuries that won’t hinder game balance.

This PC and Mac release will be complemented by an Xbox One and PlayStation 4 edition, which is set to hit store shelves on June 9th 2015.
