Claiming that this is both for testing purposes and a thank you to everyone who has backed the upcoming release to date, Cloud Imperium Games have announced that all backers of Star Citizen will be able to pilot all currently flyable ships in Arena Commander mode for one week. This is the most generous “Free Flight” weeks that the development team have offered to date, and will give backers who have only purchased ships in upper price tiers (Which have yet to be released to Arena Commander) a chance to fly a variety of different ship models.
This means that anyone can now pilot a ship in the 300 series (300i, 315p, 325a, 350r), Aurora series (CL, ES, LN, LX, MR) the Avenger, F7C Series (Hornet, Super Hornet, Tracker, Ghost), the M50 Interceptor, the Mustang series (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Omega) and the Cutlass Black.
This opportunity will expire on Friday March 20th 2015, unless they decide to expand it for whatever reason. Additional ships with be made flyable in Arena Commander mode as 2015 progresses.
Nice article and kudos for mentioning all the ships included. =)
One thing though, the first of the list of Auroras is the “CL” not “DL”.
Thanks for the comment @domaldel:disqus and picking up on my typo. Shall be fixed in a minute or two :).
You’re welcome. =)
It is my intention to do quite a bit of coverage on Star Citizen, especially now that the current estimated timeline for SC modules show that we should have more than just the already available Hangar Module and Arena Commander modes go live in 2015.
