A few days ago, Square Enix teased a brand new title that was being developed under the codename “Project Code Z”. Those who had their hopes up for it being a new JRPG may be disappointed (or possibly excited) to know that this project has since been confirmed as “Spelunker Z”.
Currently in development by Tozai Games and based on the various Spelunker platform games since 1983, this is set to be a free-to-play downloadable game – available from March 19th 2015. You can see more of what to expect from this title through the trailer above.
No international release has been confirmed by Square Enix for Spelunker Z as of writing. I would give this a moderate chance of being localized into English, although wouldn’t be setting my hopes too high given its F2P nature.
