NIS America Acquire Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls

-

Once you knew who was in attendance at Nippon Ichi Software America’s latest press conference, it was evidently clear what title they would be announcing at the event. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair were two major releases for NIS America last year, with the latter game being localized and released mere months after Trigger Happy Havoc received such an positive response from the international market.

NIS America have therefore confirmed that they now hold the rights to the first Danganronpa spin-off game titled Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. To be released on the PlayStation Vita in North America and PAL regions later this year, players will put the “Class Trial” system behind them and enter the action-adventure genre, where Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa are thrust into a despair-ridding Towa City riddled with Monokuma. Equipped with a Megaphone Hacking Gun and a murderous personality respectively, the two must survive the rampaging Monokuma’s and investigate what is going on.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls will be released via both retail and digital channels, with more specifics to be unveiled at a later date.

Komaru Naegi, little sister to Makoto Naegi, has been imprisoned inside a mysterious apartment for over a year. One day, she is rescued by Byakuya Togami of Future Foundation, but the rescue is derailed by a sudden attack of hundreds of Monokumas. Komaru soon discovers that the city has been taken over by a group of children calling themselves the Warriors of Hope. Their leader, Monaca, declares that the city will be the site of a Children’s Paradise, and to accomplish this, all the adults will be exterminated. Komaru teams up with Toko Fukawa to try to survive the rampaging Monokumas, escape the crafty Monokuma Kids, and uncover the secrets of the city.
